Early Career After graduation from business school in 1969, Boake joined Cole National Corporation, a diversified specialty distribution and retailing company. In 1978, Mr. Sells was named President, COO of this $600 million company. In June 1983, Mr. Sells joined Dayton Hudson, (now Target Corporation), as Vice Chairman. In 1984, he was elected President and a member of the Board of Directors. In 1987, he was named COO of this $10 billion corporation. Turnarounds In late 1987, Mr. Sells joined Revco Drug Stores as Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer. With sales exceeding $2.0 billion and with over 2,000 stores, Revco was the first large LBO of the 80's to enter Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Mr. Sells is credited with turning Revco around and its successful emergence from bankruptcy in June, 1992. In 1998, NCS HealthCare was a $700 million Institutional Pharmacy that found itself in trouble. As a board member, Mr. Sells was engaged to lead a turnaround. The company was reorganized out of court and sold in 2003. Full recovery occurred for all creditors, plus a return to equity. Other Following Revco, Mr. Sells has been a private investor in start-up situations. In addition, he has been on the board of Harrah's Entertainment for over 20 years.
